Although I live in the southern hemisphere, and we are on our way to a new summer season, it is the rich colours of autumn that make me reach for my camera.

About this time last year I visited my son that lives in London.  These were taken the one morning when he had me walking from the one side of London to the other side of the city ( at least that was how it felt!!)

Festival of leaves: Week 2

Festival of leaves

While the northern hemishere is readying itself for the coming autumn and winter, here where we live sping has arrived with young saplings and shiny tender leaves.

We were away for a long time and this vine almost did not survive.  When I got home, I gave it intensive care and it did the trick

Hydrangias flower in mid summer and in South Africa over Christmas time they are normally at their peak. So locally they are known as Christmas roses.
